I'm sure it'll be the first of many

Speaking of that, weird that Mustaine wasn't there. (Ellefson was)

Not sure if Mustain is on the same level as a 76 year old man with decades of Parkinson’s who could die at any moment.
His voice does suck these days though

Mustaine has burned a lot of bridges.

Mustaine and Ellefson aren't on speaking terms anymore. I would imagine Mustaine didn't want to be around him. Sharon has said she kicked one band off the Ozzy farewell show and it was speculated to be Megadeth but Kelly said they were never invited so who knows.
As far as the band retiring, maybe Dave's throat cancer a few years ago is still affecting them. Maybe he doesn't want to look like a corpse on stage like Lemmy and Ozzy did. He's got a wine business and his son manages bands so maybe he wants to do more with that. I suspect he'll do a few select festivals here and there after a few years away though.

I'm thinking they will announce a first leg of the tour to see how ticket sales go & plan for a 2nd leg. Then if those sell then a final 3rd leg to close it out. Just like Slayer. Until they got back together to play select festivals. This stuff never truly ends. It all depends on Dave's health & ticket sales how long they pull this "Final Tour" advertisement. .

Soundgarden has been rumored as well but Sharon has never said for sure. I don't know why they would have been invited in the first place unless they were just gonna be in one of those all star jams.

I heard it was Motley Crue

Nikki Sixx said they couldn't do it for health reasons but didn't elaborate. I think Vince had some issues. Soundgarden was demanding to be paid or something, according to the rumor mill.
As for Megadeth, I might have to go see them again next year. I saw the classic lineup twice back in '98, '99 maybe, once at Ozzfest, another with them as headliners.
