Brown a couple lbs ground meat and season well. Add onions, bell peppers, garlic till soft. Take off heat. Mix in 2 cans cream of anything soup, and a cup of milk. Pour over one bag tots that you spread in a 9x13 dish. Cover with any cheese you desire. Bake covered with foil for 1/2 hour at 350, 1/2 hour uncovered.

You're referring to a hot dish, which is the state meal of Minnesota. It's ground beef, mixed vegetables and cream of mushroom soup as a base topped with tots and baked. Just use your imagination and wing it. I would probably brown off some beef or breakfast sausage, make a roux with the fat, add in some onion garlic and peppers, add milk for the base, top with tots and bake. Add a little cheese at the end.

Came here to say the same. Just google Minnesota Hot Dish and you'll find recipes.

If you can find the shredded hashbrowns in the freezer section, it turns out better than using tots I've found.
Pound of hot ground sausage browned, add in onions and sauté until they're soft, one bag of hashbrownsm melt a stick of butter, and a large family size can of cream of chicken and a little milk, maybe 1/4 cup, and stir it all together and bake at 375 for a half hour. Top with shredded cheese of choice, we use Colby Jack, and back in the oven until melted.

If you follow a good shepherd's pie recipe for the ground meat, it comes out really good.

Can also be done for breakfast casseroles.
Crumble & brown breakfast sausage, scramble eggs, add onion/bell peps/whatever. Dump it all in a dish and arrange tots on top. Bake.
These probably work better than full sized tots

I can't stand Ore-Ida products.. I don't know what they do to the potatoes to give it that terrible taste... McCain potatoes products are much better... Don't know if they make tater tots...

Same. Was just the first pic that came up. We buy HEB fries. Better and cheaper.
