Air conditioning went out. Someone coming tomorrow to fix. 5 bottles need temporary storage. Will they be ok for 24-48 hours in regular refrigerator?

Thanks!

Probably. Consistent temps are best, but too cold is better than too hot. Cold just slows aging and there might be a shock period once they return to normal temps.

1 day in the fridge will be fine. Cold is better than hot. Long term storage in a fridge is not great because your cork will dry out and let air in. But 1 night isn't anything to worry about.

If you are worried, you can always completely wrap the bottles in a dish towel and put them in the fridge.

Your bottles will be fine in the refrigerator for months. They probably will be fine even at hot room temperature for just overnight if you’re getting it fixed tomorrow.

In short the bottles are fine. Keep them in a dark cabinet.

Unless these bottles are from Thomas Jefferson’s collection. Very little to worry about for a 24 hour stay at slightly warmer temps.

House got to 84 degrees in afternoon peak heat. Stayed at 80 minimum.
