I know centipede is usually frowned upon, but I was wondering the same. Low nitrogen, higher potassium. Like 7-0-20.

If you’re concerned about fertilizer burn and keeping up with watering to prevent it, use Milorganite. Even if you over apply, it won’t burn. It’s due to all slow release Nitrogen, akin to an organic fertilizer (they can’t to be called “organic” for unknown reason to me), and also a good dose of iron, which will give you a nice greening effect.

No….I fertilized my Centipede/st. Aug yard a week and a half ago and it greened up beautifully. Most years, by this time my lawn is going dormant because of the heat and lack of rain. This year we have had enough rain, so the lawn is stilll green and actively growing.

I think you only need to worry about the heat when putting weed control products on your lawn. Once it gets too hot, it will hurt your grass along with the weeds.

Fetilizer, not a problem.

It can take more nitrogen than one would think. I'll spray or spread N on my centipede when I fertilize the bermuda.
You've just got to keep water on Centipede.
