Not sure your budget but Sony Bravia X90L is far away your best option in a sub $1000 price range.
AMAZON

The best might be a Bravia 8 but it's $2600

Other comment is great but if both are out of your budget here's a $500 option as well

Just went through this process, but for 65” TV’s. Bought the Sony Bravia and the Samsung QN90D and set them both up in my living room. My wife, who could not care less about picture quality, immediately said the Sony was much better. I agreed and boxed up the Samsung and returned it.

I bought the Sony Bravia 7 from Costco for $999 and ended up buying another for our game room.

I did like TCL and have had a few. They always crapped out on me after just a few years, picture and function was nice though.

The Bravia 8 is so bright I thought it was an LED tv in Best Buy. That thing looked incredible.

I wouldn't mind one. If my X90L ever craps out.

For the best pic, get an LG OLED.

i’ve had top end bravia and LG and panasonic and samsung. LG C series has got to be the best value for picture quality. Gallery series if super-thin is needed.

I am super picky and generally have complaints about everything I buy. But my LG G2 is one of the best things I have ever purchased.

whatever you get, PLEASE turn off the soap opera effect !
