Although Virginia Tech lost the game, Delane was really good in that game. Doesn’t give up a big play all game and Clemson rarely runs the ball his way and doesn’t throw his way pretty much the whole 2nd half. There was one catch in zone coverage in the first that may have been his man but looked to be the safeties responsibility.

The one time they did run the ball his way, there was a hold on Delane and it got brought back.

I think he’s going to man up their best WR and I like our odds in that match up.

You know it’s getting close when I’m watching old games to see matchups

The closer we get the more confident I get. I'm ready to be hurt again lol.

His tape vs their wideouts was very impressive. Sticky and physical. He can run with any of their trio. IMO how I would matchup vs their wideouts

Delane on Wesco

Pickett on Moore

Woodland on Williams

Brain fart on my end stamps will def be a big part of the game plan and probably will start snap 1. Him and Pickett would be my main choices on tj moore with their length and athleticism. Jakeem Jackson is another guy I would throw out there

Interesting. Did they have Delane playing one side the whole game or shadowing a particular receiver?

I watched this game a while back to see how Delane did against him. From what i can tell, he was targeted 7 times in man coverage. Completed 2 passes but 3 of the 5 incompletions were uncatchable. One Delane broke up and the other he picked but his feet were out of bounds. He was on the bad end of a highlight though. He blitzed and got to Klubnik untouched, hit him, spun him around, but didnt complete the sack. Klubnik stumbled, gathered his feet and threw a 45yard td.

The key to the game imo is to limit Kubniks feet. Make him be a pocket passer

I would be thrilled if our DL and DB's played as well as Vtech did in the 1st half. LSU is going to score, and Vtech shut them completely down.

It’s going to take a week or two to remember all the portal players we picked up.

I doubt Pickett starts game1. Sure hope he is by mid-season. He is good, but so far looks like he needs a little time. Not going back to verify this about Patrick Peterson, but only cover corner that was game1 starter for us was Stingley. I am sure to be corrected if I am wrong.
