His growth is off the charts going into yr 4?

He is our next Baun. He doesn’t rush the QB as good as Baun, but his sideline to sideline and coverage can become elite.

He will start next to Davis and Werner in week 1. That’s my prediction.

His history as a safety makes him extremely versatile.

Stutsman will get some action, but Sewell is gonna make his mark. He’s my breakout player on defense.

ETA: I forgot about Staley's defensive base. So Sewell "starting" I will agree wouldn't be correct. But I do expect him to be a breakout player and get on the field a lot on passing downs.

There’s about a 0% chance he starts at linebacker in week 1 barring any type of major injuries to that group. You truly think the saints are gonna roll out 3 traditional linebackers in week 1? So who is Sewell gonna start over? You’re gonna have Granderson, Bresee, DG, Young, Davis, Werner, koolaid, Taylor, Reid, Blackmon, and some sort of combination between Riley and Amadi. Defenses base package is a nickel these days. I can see him getting some playing time but, that depends on where they see Stutsman playing and honestly at this point I’m not sure they can keep Stutsman off the field.

I’d be happy if Sewell and Stutsman were just special teams beasts this year. If they’re replacing Demario or Pete for regular snaps at LB this year, something has gone wrong.

Being that base is only played about 20% on average across the nfl, and our scheme will actually use only 1 traditional LB a ton (penny defense with 5 DL, 1 LB, and 5 DB), even if he earns the 3rd LB spot he will see little action unless they rotate him in with Young and Granderson on the edges.

Stutsman will be the best rookie on the Saints not named Kelvin Banks Jr. in 2025.

Demario

Dudes 36 years old. Will be 37 in season. Id MUCH rather getting Danny some PT over Demario if this team isn't in contention. End of story.

You don't play a rookie over a leader of the team who is better unless you want the locker room up in flames lol

what makes you think Sewell will be a starter in the NFL when he hasn't been to date of his career

Call me old fashioned, but I guess I’m of the archaic mindset that you play your best players

Neither was Baun. Call it a hunch.
