Down 18% in a short time, but currently has a good yield, good EPS, and good P/E ratio.

Friday, I sold 1 cash covered put at an $80 strike expiries on 9/5.
My thinking is the same as yours. Didn't think the earnings were that bad but not willing to go all in either.

Personally I bought some under $100 and will continue building a small position until it goes above that level. It’s not a high conviction one for me but definitely feels like an asymmetrical opportunity

I’m down about 13% but will probably hold. Everyone is worried about their dividend but they bought back $1BB worth of shares last year , so I’m sure they’ll prioritize dividend payout over share buybacks.

Feels like decent value in this market. I think you know what you are signing up for..

However not sure where the growth comes from moving forward.. Small price increases over time should be fine, but the stock is priced for this low growth. However at that yield it's still a good deal and decent defensive play

I bought some. To me it seems like a fair value right now.

I lack conviction specifically because of the dividend. Its sustainability is questionable, and if it’s cut it’s going to get ugly.

On the bright side competition is limited. And the negative side one competitor has the luxury of non unionized labor, and the other isn’t constrained by economic’s and profits.

On the other hand UPS has grand visions of automation, that can’t be implemented while blowing out that 6% divvy.

They’re also started saber rattling with the teamsters less than a year after the labor. agreement.

If you’re a value investor, maybe ehh. The transportation sector (particularly trucking) is in an indefinite bear market. I work in the industry and it’s as bad as I’ve seen. NFA but I’d recommend ODFL for a good value trucking play if interested.

As I long term hold I think it's a falling knife. I just can't envision a world in 10-20 years we still have big gargantuan man-driven trucks putt-putting along every residential street to deliver packages. With self driving imminent and the possibility of drone fleets, I just see UPS being a legacy giant that gets disrupted and replaced with something more advanced.

I'm holding my stupid 200 shares of UPS with no expectations other than taking a nice loss before 12/31. CEO is a moron. If he owned a funeral home, no one would die (G. Gekko).

Union wages and benefits are kicking their arse.
You can only charge so much to deliver a package.
It's a hard pass for me.

Amazon is delivering their own stuff, I haven’t had an Amazon package delivered by UPS in a year.

UPS said it was going to cut Amazon business by 50% because it wasn't profitable

FedEx dumped Amazon for the same reason last year. UPS’s predicament is not only did they agree with the union to increase full time positions last year, but now they’re trying to shutdown facilities they no longer need, and are offering buyouts to old timers to replace them with new hires.

I wouldn't touch UPS.

Is Amazon building their fleet to replace UPS over time? I feel like they are. Started out just for their products but they are already in a neighborhoods everyday, why not deliver other packages?
