Great to see Durham breaking off long runs. Man, this team will be nasty with a competent ground game.

With improved run blocking and the Alex Atkins affect leading to the run gsme being schemed better I expect huge year out of Durham

With the transfers and DJ Pickett coming in, PJ has kinda been forgotten. He’s apparently had his nose to the ground stone, kept quiet and improved. He flashed some ability last year as a freshman, he just needed some time to add weight and strength. I’m looking forward to seeing his development

Wonder if we see PJ in a nickel role week 1 vs Clemson

I think that should the plan. In man coverage situations I want woodland in the slot matched up on their stud slot wr Antonio Williams. Think he has the athleticism and quick twitch to cover him

That is huge news. Having a depth of experienced guys who can play will be crucial.

I know PJ was pretty small when he arrived, but certainly had the hips and athleticism.
Does anyone have a good handle on his size recently?

The problem is nickels hardly ever see the field in Baker's defense since he runs with a STAR so much.

He's listed at 5"11 165 lbs on the current roster. He may have gained some weight, but more than likely its good weight and he will just keep getting bigger as he gets older.
Excited to see him in 5 DB package.

I don't give a damn about Star this or that. Put the best 11 on the field and let's roll.

It's great that there's legit competition at practice now. We know our offense is going to be good, and the added DL depth will make the OL better. Having Perk back on the field combined with Weeks, Haulcy, and the DE transfers we should be able to spark some big plays on the defensive side of the ball.

Totally agree. I absolutely love this roster. It's built for success. I just think PJ is one of the best 11.

Yes, he is still small - 165 lbs. He gets his body molded - will be special.

I think what you would see in obvious passing situations is Perkins and Whit stay in at LB and a Nickel comes in. The advantage of the STAR is you can play "light nickel" in a 1st and 10, 2nd and short situation. But you move a slower linebacker out and bring the nickel in 3rd and long, even 2nd and long.

How much does he need to gain? Don’t want his speed to suffer right?

180 would be a good number for woodland
