How can one accelerate growth of windmill palms ?

Have a few which have been planted for years and even with regulated watering,good soil condition and yearly 'ground spike fertilizing', they have only grown a couple of feet. Any suggestions would be appreciated !

Palms are not fast growing.

A lot of windmill and Mexican fan palms around here looked like crap after the snowfall last year, I suspect some of the slow growth might be related to that particularly if it’s still young.

That’s normal windmill palm behavior.
Washington (Mexican fan) are the fast growing ones but they hate the cold.

8-2-12 fertilizer with micros. Mexican fan will be the fastest growing.
