Typically unnecessary, you would be fine just flushing well with water.

Hot water spray from hose and simple green coil cleaner sold by gallon that you dilute...goes the furthest for the cheapest. Home Depot has the Simple Green coil cleaner by the gallon.

Nope….I have been using the one available at Lowes every year and my condenser looks like new.

It is not as good as that acid stuff that professionals use, but it beats dish soap, too.

if you use the simple green or Nu-brite (blue) coil cleaners, just make sure you mix them @ the right dilution and thouroughly rinse. Viper makes a good one as well. Do not use any of the acid based cleaners, really no need..hose off with water first to remove any debris as the cleaner is designed to make contact with the small flat surface of the fins to help remove the small buildup on the fins themselves, the suff that builds up between the fins should be removed with water first..consider replacing your capacitor if 2 years or older (Amrad, Titan HD or Mars) ~$20, if not at least keep a spare

I suppose you mean capacitor. You might be able to determine by the model # of the condenser. If you post it here I can help you find it. Better to look inside just in case though. On a different note I have new Trane being installed now and it doesn't have a traditional capacitor. I was about to order an extra.
