Ok baws, for those that have the 5th generation Glock how much of an improvement do you find it to be over the previous iterations? As a lefty I like the ability to make it left handed.

Sorry to add my 2cents as a gen3 only guy when you are looking for gen5 input. Also a lefty though.

Early on I became able to press the slide release with my left index finger

I wanted to stay with Glock19 thirdgens and have done so.

My reason for it back then was that I wanted a gun that had withstood the test of time, and the index finger thing just didn’t bother me.

I also saw a thicker front face of the slide’s lug around the spring. Saw ONE video on how that lug broke after a guy went in a 1000 round mag dump. It convinced me to stay with gen three because I am gullible.

Then I became married to Glock due the number of magazines I bought and THEN kept buying more g3.

I don’t buy pretty guns.

I like purpose made pistols, ar’s and shotguns.
Speaking of ugly, I love my LCP so I bought another at PSA for $160 the other day.

Thanks, being a lefty has never bothered me and like you I like the Gen 3 track record, thinking about breaking down and getting a Dagger.

I bought three compact daggers and they run just fine.

I’ll muddy the water even more as a lefty. I love both 3rd gen and 4th gen glocks. I’ve learned to operate both and would likely struggle if I switched the ergonomics.

I have yet to buy a 5th gen but, there’s a ton of rumors about the upcoming 6th gen that I’m excited to see.

I got a Ruger RXM (gen 3 clone with a chassis system like the P365) instead of a gen 5 and really like it so far. Looking forward to metal frames.

Maybe the 6th gen will finally push me to get a Glock

I'm a lefty, and love the gen4 and 5's.

I only have gen 5's so my exposure to prior gens has been just shooting a few different ones.

Personally, I like the gen 5's the best. The finish seems to be great so far (just a few years) and seem to have normal glock reliability. I like not having finger groves, the exception being the 26, which I think I prefer with the finger groves. Faced with having the option for either gen 3 or 5 for all of mine, with both on the table each time, I chose the gen 5 each time. I just like them better. Glock claims they are more reliable than previous gens, and i like the slightly more mushy trigger better.

Side note - the glock sport combat holster is amazing and costs less than $15 and fits all double stack glocks. Anybody with a glock needs one.

And they are pre-selling 26X frames on the glockstore right now, 26 slide on a 19 length grip with a rail. That's going to be an amazing CC gun when they get them released.
