Nussmeier started 7-for-7 including a deep ball down the right side to Chris Hilton. He also found Destyn Hill on a few different routes. One was over the middle where Hill high pointed it behind the linebackers. Hill also caught one while being draped by Stamps. That was the first of three great Hill catches in traffic. The Florida State transfer capped the day with a leaping one-handed grab on the sideline that he held on to through a hit. Hill had a fantastic day.

Hell yes Destyn Hill!

Really our entire receiving core is just loaded. This is easily the best WR group in America. It might be almost too deep, but this is where the coaches make money. Certain guys in certain situations

I must be living under a rock.
I have never heard of Hill.
I feel most of the talk has been about Hilton, Brown, Nic & Aaron Anderson, etc.

Either way, glad he’s playing for the good guys

He was in a DEEP class with Nabers, BTJ, and Bech if I remember correctly. Regardless of his class, I remember watching him in camps and thinks he was such a smooth route runner. Couldn’t understand why we weren’t offering. I guess it worked out since he had his trials and tribulations and the ended up here.

I hope they can find enough playing time to keep Francis out of the portal but there's only so many plays in a game. He's going to be a monster for someone down the line. 1st World problems.

IIRC Francis didn't visit too many other places or even camps. That's why he was a lower rated prospect until the end of the cycle. He might be one of the few that is fine with sitting a year because he's happy where he's at and knows he'll be developed

Sit down and I'll tell you the tale of Destyn Hill:

Many moons ago he was known as Destyn Paizon and he was in the same class as Nabers, BTJ, and Bech out of HS. He did not get a commitable offer from LSU because we went with the 3 mentioned and Deion Smith (I think?). So Destyn commited to FSU. Do to unknown circumstances, he did not enroll at FSU for 2 whole seasons. Meaning his freshman year was 2023. He was a 3rd of 4th WR on the very good 2023 FSU team and then last season he was set to be the number 1 guy until he got hurt. This past offseason he jumped in the portal and came home. Given that he is coming off an injury and the fact that he never got to show out at FSU, he was not as highly touted as the other transfers that we took this past offseason. Many thought he'd be buried on the depth chart in 2025 and 2026 would be his year to show out. Based on a single day of practice, it looks like he is very much in the mix with his peers THIS season. Moscona (everyone's favorite) said he is very physical and brings qualities to the table that the other WRs maybe don't (toughness over the middle and a willingness to block).

I would hope that they were upfront with him about not playing much his FR year.
