What is one piece of tailgating equipment that you can’t do without. Obviously tv, satellite, grill, etc not included. Looking for some upgrades this year

Unpopular opinion probably, but I could do without the TV. If I wanted to sit around and watch tv all day it would be a lot easier to do so at home.

It’s not about being glued to the tv, it’s keeping up with other games, gives you something to do and talk about with other baws drinking beer etc.

You are the one asking other people for tailgating advice.

I bet you can make your own Bongzilla for less than $89.99. All the parts are pretty much at Home Depot already to assemble.

Ahh, the bongzilla. The best tailgate party I’ve ever had is when some Auburn fans came and brought their own. We were cooking squirrel and drinking from that.

A sound system and generator bigger than your neighbors so that you can be louder

You might be a redneck if you have grilled squirrel and Alabama beer bongs at your tailgate.

Truck bed cover and pipe locks. Both items allow us to lock up everything safely-ish at close of tailgate.

More valuables/electronics go in truck cab or insulated park of locked and covered truck bed.

Other non-valuables like tables, tent shells, etc. get locked with pipe locks to tree overnight (before game and sometimes after game if space is tight). We use pipe locks to lock tent shells up widely around tree as a placeholder on top of our tailgate space. Do it every game just in case but primarily useful for bigger games in a reserved lot with limited grassy tailgate area.

Also recommend a mixer for switching between game audio on TV and music from phone.

If you don’t have one of the DirecTV tailgaters, also recommend a coaxial splitter for your TV so you can watch 2 games on 2 diff TVs over air without worrying about hotspot connectivity that’s iffy for big games.

All this is for football tailgates. For baseball, all you need is a monster Bluetooth speaker, ice cold beer, and a truck with a dropped tailgate.
