The tax man cometh.

The tax man taketh.

Over-protection a species can have negative effects on many others.

But I am no marine biologist.

The sharks have been worse than ever off shore here from Tampa.

Even in the shallows, 50 ft, they wont allow anything to come up sometimes.

good luck finding one that will give an honest assessment without imparting their personal and academic views on how resources should be managed.

To most of them, humans are an invasive species that have no place in the food chain.

I’m no marine biologist but those bastards seem to be everywhere now. I’m honestly getting too chicken to even go into the water when surf fishing now, and it’s because of the sharks. I used to not care, but I’m seeing more and more of them, and the may not be big, but there are plenty of 2-4ft sharks swimming around you when you’re surf fishing. frick those things.

They’ve been worse in the last 3-4 years than I’ve seen in several decades of fishing. And the past two years, the ones we are encountering have dramatically increased in size, and appear to be almost all bull sharks. And used to be worse around the rigs than the wrecks, now, they are EVERYWHERE.

Restrictions on shipping and sales of sharks were slipped into a defense reauthorization in 2023. This is the kind of slimy shite that happens daily in Congress.

Here is NOAA Bragging About It

well ill say this much, humans as a whole definitely tax more than they need from the natural order of things. chinas fishing fleets for instance. its unlike any other animal in the food chain. running the score up on em kinda deal

I’ve been snapper fishing three times this year and the sharks have not been nearly as bad as they have in the last few years.

With the increase in numbers they are getting more aggressive.

The Destin Fishing Rodeo has Shark Saturdays, they need to do this year round. Every Saturday should have a big event at AJ's and string up every boat's biggest shark, and hand out the prize for the biggest.
