I used to live in fear of this when I was little.

Not really sure of how I came to this?

I don't remember my parents ever saying it.

I was the youngest by a lot of years and my older sister used to tell me that I was adopted so I just assumed there was no secondary sale and I was stuck

What’s wrong with being adopted….?

Most kids, that are adopted, are better off being adopted.

No, however I did go through a phase where I would wonder off in a store like Walmart and then panic when I couldn’t find my mom and sis thinking they’d left me. Run around until I found them, and do the same thing another time or two.

You would have been okay with your parents putting you up for adoption?

Absolutely nothing. We adopted our daughter directly following C section.
Our daughter was absolutely better off with us.

It was the idea that my parents just didn't want me around.

Some would b better off if their parents put them up for adoption. Now that this question was posed, maybe me.

If my parents were abusive, or not the best parents to be raising kids, and my adoptive parents were loving, caring and gave me all the things I needed as a child, you bet your arse I would be happy.

My twins were adopted. We’ve had them since they were three months old, they have a half sister they know and keep in touch with. They know the family dynamic they would’ve been brought up in, and they’re happy as can be we adopted them. Their sister tells them all the time how lucky they are we adopted them and wished we could’ve adopted her, which my wife and I talked about, but her father was still in her life. Obviously same mother, different dads, mom was a drug addict, who’s now deceased.

I lived in fear of quicksand.

Turns out......it was entirely unfounded. I've had no problems at all with quicksand throughout my entire life.

Im adopted always knew I was adopted.
When I met my maternal grandfather, I was pleased, if not surprised at his great head of hair

Maybe, deep down, you knew you were doing something that should have gotten you adopted. It’s Shirley Temple syndrome. You probably need a little therapy.

No... I prayed for it.

I prayed I was secretly adopted/stolen and my real parents would come rescue me one day.

Alternatively, I prayed for some circumstance in which I could be adopted by a good family.

Furthermore, I used to try to convince myself to believe that every time I blinked, I was transported to a parallel universe- in each one I was still "me", but only retained the lived knowledge of that particular universe... so no matter what I was going through, it'd all change in the next blink of an eye. This brought me great comfort.

My childhood was less than ideal, thankfully it was quite short.

Not sure I could’ve been doing to make them put me up for adoption.

I loved round things like tape and movie film reels, wheels etc. I loved small engines, BB guns and playing with fire.
