Looking for a tablet that will be used specifically for banking, emails, printing documents, selling on Ebay etc. Overall just light usage light usage with a few excel spreadsheets from time to time. I don't do anything intensive just looking to replace a cheap windows desktop that is becoming a pain. What's a good option and do the ipads print wirelessly through a wireless printer? As you can tell not a very tech savvy guy. Thanks

See if you can get an open box from best buy. Regardless of which model you choose, it will be best bang for your buck

You can get Microsoft Surface laptop from 2023 for under $300 on eBay, and you don't need to spend more money on a keyboard, stand, etc.

I've used an iPad with keyboard a few times as a travel/light computer. I've always gone back to a MacBook Air or similar eventually (my travel computer now).

The OS trade offs just weren't worth it to me and I think the weight is pretty comparable (MBA lighter than many iPad setups).

Disclaimer: I use an iPad, Mac and Windows.

I'd get a MacBook Air. iPad is great for browsing viewing YouTube or Netflix etc / emailing but when you try to actually do work with it, such as Excel forget it.

IMHO, an iPad is not a replacement for a laptop.

Tablets are consumption devices. Phones too, really. You can make a tablet work for doing work, but you're probably going too end up working twice as hard to do it as you would on a computer. Just my 2c.

This. The Excel/Google Sheets app do not have entirely all the same functions as the desktop app/using google sheets on a computer. They’re simplified with the most common tasks I suppose, but if you get to the point you need to do something specific and have to wait until you get back to a computer, it gets pretty frustrating

I have a Magic Keyboard and loved it at first, but after the newness of it wore off I found myself just going for my laptop instinctively again. And the weight is definitely comparable if not less depending on the laptop

ETA: if I had a MacBook Air/pro it wouldn’t even be a question. But my work laptop is a dell and I liked the convenience of responding to texts, etc on the iPad keyboard. Still got to the point where I pretty much don’t use it anymore because I got tired of carrying both around
