Thoughts on Eddington (Slight Spoilers)

For most of the runtime, I thought this movie was great. The last 20 minutes or so go pretty psychotic. But there is a lot I really like about this movie.
I’d easily say this is the best Ari Aster movie IMO. though I don’t like hereditary or Midsomer.
The movie does go through genres. Starts out as satire, moves into thriller, and ends in action.
For most of the movie, I got the point. This movie up to a certain point is critical of everyone. But again, going back to the last 20 minutes, I have no fricking clue what that was. And that may even be a point.
Joaquin Phoenix is great. I do feel his character is very realistic as a man who’s become overwhelmed in a world he doesn’t quite understand.
For people who have Pedro Pascal fatigue… he isn’t in it that much.
At the end of the day, I am a bit disappointed as the movie does feel like it pivots to much in the story it’s trying to tell but I certainly think it is worth seeing.
Also, because people have been curious, the political stuff is more about character development than anyone else. There’s a lot of time spent on how warping social media is and how that makes idiots of everyone despite their beliefs

After watching his other films I’d say he has an unhealthy obsession with geriatric penises. I haven’t watched this new movie, but I’d be willing to bet there is some old guys dick that is shown.

Just got out. I enjoyed it but it's far too long. He really needs cut his films down. I feel the same as I did watching Beau is Afraid. There's some great stuff here, and other stuff (butler's story) that wasn't needed.
This movie doesn't pick a side, it calls out everyone. The BLM stuff is hilarious. I can see why so many critics are hating on it.

Eh, there is a very very unnecessary shot that features Joaquin Phoenix’s dick and balls

Oh, I just heard something that makes a lot of sense to the ending. Makes the movie way darker than it already is.

Pedro Pascal fatigue
Fatigue from him being in literally everything now or from his personality? He does seem pretty insufferable

How can you not like Hereditary? That is a great movie

Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers
The Antifa group at the end that feels so fricking random… they’re actually there on behalf of the mega corp. When Pascal died, their stooge is out. Joe didn’t want the mega corp in there so they sent in goons to frick with the situation to get Joe out of the way

Yeah, I was surprised how small his role was. But the vote for Ted Garcia commercial was greatness

Exactly. It’s not a horror movie. It’s a supernatural snuff film.

Makes no sense.
