North La. Duck Guides

A group of us make an annual duck/goose hunt. This year we’re thinking about NE La. Any recommendations for a lodge that could accommodate 8-10 hunters in NE La?
Thanks for any responses.

Mallard Crossing south of Monroe. I’ve hunted with them numerous times. They would be my choice.

Colby Daniels with Top Gun Guides in Mer Rouge is my guy.
Stuttgart gets a lot of pressure and Monroe gets a lot of pressure. The area in between the two seems to be a sweet spot. Pretty much Mer Rouge, LA to DeWitt, AR is where I've had some great hunts.

Mer Rouge, Top Gun Guides. Find em on social media primarily Facebook.
Ask for Colby. Been going there since 2014. Don’t worry about birds. They got em.

A good friend of mine has had a lease within a mile or so of some of their stuff for decades. It's usually electric unless it's 80 degrees.

Plus, Mer Rouge has the Country Cream. Best Ice Cream that side of Bayou DeSiard

This is true. Tacked on a canopy back in the day for John Deere over there and the ice cream down the road was as good as advertised.

Second Colby. He will work hard for you and put you on some birds. Good food and accommodations. Hope you have a nice trip.

For probably the best hunting, it’s probably with Gordon at Mallard Crossing. Plus when his woods get right it is pretty damn good but that is late season action and typically he he gets booked pretty well in advance so I’d be jumping on that now. Plus not sure if he has lodging. You would probably need to stay in Monroe. Dave’s Bayou has the lodging and the grub. It’s awesome. The hunting can be great or meh. Kinda depends on which pit you get. Plus, it’s not exactly cheap. I’ve hunted a couple times with Colby Daniels up
near Jones. Good area and he usually kills. Gets a lot of Specks early and bonus ice cream in Mer Rouge. Pretty sure he has lodging too. Then there is the OB’s favorite guide service Megaducks that is run by Johnny Wink. Very classy outfit.

Probably the best run down on the most capable guides in that area for sure.

Has anybody used Shell Shocked in Jonesville? Asking for a friend.

You don’t think hunting a pit with a bazillion old hulls floating around and maybe getting cussed at over the phone is classy?

You forgot that damn dog that parades back and forth while shaking water on everyone.
