Texas A&M: “A&M, the thing that stood out about them, is the receivers coach, Coach Wiggins. Having the resume he has with coaching receivers and the receivers he’s sent to the NFL. Also having the Heisman winner under his belt as a receiver position, that doesn’t happen too often. Coach Elko, he’s a great guy. Every time I get to talk to him, he’s amazing.”

LSU: “LSU is in the same boat,” Mathews said. “LSU is known for all the receivers they’ve produced and sent to the NFL and are still doing well in the NFL. Again, Coach Hank, he has sent a lot of receivers to the league too. And getting him to show me his receiver room and what he can do to see how he develops is big.”

Ole Miss: “Ole Miss, being my first offer, I’ve been connected with them since my ninth grade year,” Mathews said. Getting up there so many times, they make me feel very welcome every time I come. They make me feel like I’m already one of them. Coach McDonald, he’s an amazing guy. Getting to know him after he came in was like a dream come true. He didn’t miss a heartbeat.”

Auburn: “Coach Davis,” Mathews said. “Him being a young coach, I feel like the connection we’ve built is very high. Him showing me some tips, making me better in my game. And not only in my game, to be a better person. Also, of course, knowing Deuce (Knight), just having connections all across the board.”
