I’d come back.
And I say that as a lifelong Bucs fan.

They'll likely give him the shortest path to the show.
They constantly fool with AA and AAA guys and hope they find a gem for a low price for a few years, then ship him off to the Yankees once the rookie deal is up.

Congrats to Bear. Wish him the best and thank you for being an outstanding Tiger.

Maybe he can finally help get some runs across for Skenes

Several games come to mind this year where Bear was clutch even in slumps. UCLA shell shocking LSU in the first, Bear silences that quickly with one swing. Tennessee dominated LSU and Bear ends that game on one swing. Clutch hit in Arkansas to win. The Tenn, third game against LR, and Arkansas CWS game were the most significant games this year. Thanks Bear.

He may have a chance to reach big leagues. Pirates are terrible.

When that idiot coach for Pigs pitch to him as the 19 game winning hits scrolled across the screen. Next pitch was 20th. What was he thinking with Josh in the hole? He was as clutch as anyone in recent history.

$206k for that draft slot. He needs to come back. He can take half and slay 10s in the quad.

I thought the Pirates already had a Jared Jones

I gotta believe a big league hitting coach can get him out of his hitting funk.

Maybe he can give Skeens some run support. No one else on the team can.

As a Yankees fan, I’d be ok with that for Jones

He needs to come back to LSU for another year (if he has the eligibility) and figure out what he wants to do for his career….

I know that players have zero leverage to get paid as Drafted Seniors but it seams that in Bear's case (unless they are going to sign him at an over slotted value- his current bonus slot is $206,900) he could make more through NIL or straight payment from LSU to stay and play his Senior year. Even after the shite bonus offer he would have in next year draft he would net more money than just signing this year. Don't know how much of an advantage there is in a year of low minor league vs the SEC when considering longterm player development but at least this would provide some more options for later drafted Juniors.
I know this is kind of an oversimplification of the scenario (one being that the player-team generally have an agreement in place prior to the team making a pick) but in todays college landscape there may be better options that what have been traditionally seen as the smartest choice.

That's not happening.

A lot of you massively over estimate what NIL in college baseball is paying
