Binged "The Offer" over the weekend on Paramount +. I heard a little bit about it when it came out around 3 years ago, but not a ton of buzz (maybe I wasn't paying enough attention).
This is one of the best things I've streamed in a long time. I always loved The Godfather, and to see a dramatic recreation of how it all came together was fantastic. Sure, there are some embellishments for dramatic effect. Still, it was an incredibly told story which I highly recommend.

I really liked it too. I've read a few books about the making of great movies and I'm always amazed at what a crapshoot it can be. It seems really common that it's almost accidental that the outcome is what it is. So many decisions that could have gone differently, casting choices, editing, etc. Makes you wonder how many awful movies were really close to becoming the next Godfather but different decisions were made and they ended up being Ishtar instead.

Its very paint by numbers and...fast and loose with the truth and facts, to say the least.
But it is enjoyable

Yea I enjoyed it quite a bit. Can't believe he passed on being a producer for Part 2, assuming that part is true.

I tried watching but the "Al Ruddy was at the center of everything" bullshite was just too much
Best thing about it was the guy who played Robert Evans. Hope he got a career boost

I really enjoyed it. I can’t believe it’s been 3 years since I watched it.

He was the most intriguing part of it all...that and the fact that Lou Ferrigno still looked so good at over 70.
