I know there are threads but just want opinions without spoilers. Is it full of annoying DEI and wokeness or a fun movie to see?

There is literally ZERO DEI or wokeness in the movie. None. Nada. Zilch. It ain't there.

It is a VERY fun movie. Go see it.

There’s a 30+ page thread about it, but I guess you’re special, so start a new one to ask if you should watch it.

I'm not. We saw it last night and will go back and see it again. It's a fun movie.

I mean, we won't be like the family in front of us that all had on Superman shirts... the parents were complete dorks... felt sorry for the kids....

But they had fun... so what's it to me?

It’s a fun movie, there’s no DEI or anything like that. It’s got the Gunn silliness and heart, it’s made some changes you might not like, I didn’t, but you’re likely going to have a good time at the movies.

It wasn't woke. I didn't find the movie "fun" and cannot recommend it. I'm sure I'm in the minority.

It’s better than anything the super hero genre has put out in awhile.

There is no DEI in the strictest sense, but a lot of the men are a lot more...sensitive now, especially Superman. But seeing how his son JOn Kent turn out, not surprise. The boy must have gotten that sensitivity from someone.

I for one was on the fence about it, I dislike Brandon Routh portrayal cause he was super stalkerish in there, but again, Bryan Singer so, that made sense.

Man of Steel was my All time favoring because as a comic book fan, we finally see him cut lost. I found the complaint that people saying he killed all those people in his Zod fight is not in good faith. In the real world, a major city wouldn't have abandoned for the two to fight it out like that.

Also, in SUperman 2, if the civilian didn't have cartoon rubber graphics, then Zod and his crew would have racked up the kill count easily.

Finally how they fricked Cavill was fricked up and I wanted to see more. He's my superman for sure.

That said, I made the last minute decision to watch this superman legacy. And, if you like the greater DC universe, and don't mind that Superman was never the first Superhero in existence, then this movie is great.

This Superman is kinda respected just because he's powerful and not really the symbol for hope as the previous iteration. He came late to the party and right now he was just another cape until he wasn't. Its a more cartoony approach but I get what James Gunn was going for.

Even Superman is not perfect and struggles like you boys and girls.

Since you mention it, Superman was an absolute pussy. Not a good look for someone named Superman. It was annoying.

That wasn’t a flex. It was a very poor choice of a movie director. The guy is supposed to be 30 years old.
