Will be there Thursday - Saturday. Any food/beer spots I need to check out? Two kiddos so casual only.

How do you like Indian food? Just kidding.
The El Tiempo up the road at the Fountains is not as good as some other locations. There’s a Pappasitos Cantina right there that is always consistent with chips, margaritas, and Tex Mex.

Honestly food scene here kinda sucks compared to inside the loop. How old are kids?
As someone suggested, Talyard is pretty laid back brewery with massive playground and space for kids to run around. Live Oak Grill also decent with laid back vibes. Jupiter fits same bill as well.
Whiskey Cake in Stafford is decent enough. Aga’s is some very legit Paki/Indian food if you are into it.
Lots of other small places but nothing to write home about.

Kids are 8 and 5. We are going to the Chili Peppers baseball game on Friday night. Looks like Talyard is right by the stadium, so may check that out before going in. Appreciate the recs!

Jupiter
Thai Town is a fairly new spot that opened maybe late last year, and is fantastic. Competes with the best Thai places inside the loop, IMO.
Fernando’s is really damn good with steaks and lamb chops. It is a nice place, but they won’t mind kids.
Pacific Coast Tacos
Pablo’s just up the road on TX-99 for Tex-Mex

Talyard is impressive - playground + pickleball + beer + food.
Live Oak is a huge menu and has a small playground. Everything is good that’s I’ve tried
Pappasitos, Lupe, and El Tiempo on 59 are solid for Tex-Mex. Pablo’s up 99 is better but out the way.
Pho Ben for Pho
Thai Square for Thai ( kinda hole in wall on 90).
Swinging Door closed so idk about BBQ. Rudy’s on 59 is good enough.
Standard American Chinese - Jade Ly on 90.
More authentic Chinese / dumplings (point at menu because waiter doesn’t speak English) is Old Place Cafe down Hwy 6
Willys on Hwy 6 has a solid burger but I’d probably go to Live Oak first.
Indian either Himalayas in town or we get take out from Mahek which is in a gas station on 1464.
If you like chains, there is everything under the sun.

Thoroughly enjoyed Talyard and Jupiter! Appeciate those recs.
We almost went back to Talyard a second time. That place really is impressive.
