Berkshire's cash position as of the end of March was about 22% of his total portfolio.

Never was mostly cash, his cash position will continue to grow until he finds a value acquisition.
He has admitted it has gotten very difficult because there aren't that many large acquisitions out there that can really move the needle for them anymore

Considering the government is about to start putting $1k per baby born over the next few years into index funds I would say it's not a good time to be in cash anymore

Yeah ole Warren has lost out on over 100 Billie with his “genius” tactic of pulling cash out of his funds so far

In 2021 Berkshire Hathaway had 146 billion in cash, he has constantly sold stocks in fear of a downturn and to invest when it occurs.
The majority of his extra cash started coming at the beginning of 2023.
He now has ~350 billion in cash.
Berkshire Hathaway returns by year.
2023: 15.77%
2024: 25.49%
2025 YTD: 6.83%
I’m no expert in investing like he is. But my math tells me he’s lost out on a frick ton of money by holding all that cash. What say you?

Berkshire only buys big positions of what they consider undervalued stocks.
They probably would prefer to buy whole companies.
Buffet said most people would be better off just indexing.
I still hold Berkshire. It may have another run at some point.
