+1 on above. Obviously there are a lot of what ifs, but if I could prove I didn’t know these people I’d shoot them claiming self defense

Are these people moving into empty homes, or is it people preying on people's charitable nature and moving in with them until they can claim permanent residency? In my family we've had to deal with the latter.

People moving into empty houses. They will change locks and say you have to evict them. I'd heard this is a big problem in California.

Squatters and their “rights” are a top 3 thing that can make me go from 0 to about as pissed off as I can be without an existential threat to someone I care about.
