He was recruited as a DE in last years class but is now listed as a DT. Why the switch?

Where do you see him listed at DT?

not as quick and explosive with his knee problems
his senior season in high school was evidence that he lost a step, so to speak, from his junior year before he was injured
I guess they're bulking him up to make him a DT now

If I remember correctly, he was kind of a DT/DE tweener like RJF was.
My guess is that they feel good about Pep Livingston, R. Alem, C. Clement, M. Brokers and S. Corley at DE.
FWIW, LSUsports.net has him listed as a DE on the Roster.

Corley is suppose to have a lot of speed.
LSU sure looked slow this past season in comparison to other SEC teams.
I wonder if Moffits workout regime has something to do with the loss of speed and LSU players supposedly losing speed at the combines

I read where Brockers is in the same mold as Chauncey and Corley as well. I think that just put a heavier emphasis on getting Montgomery or Stinson to finish out this class. After Alem leaves next year, we are going to need guys with speed off the edge.

what the hell, corley was suppose to have blistering speed for DE?
He was very highly recruited.
To hell with size we need speed on defense.

I thought the same thing, but seeing him in action this year, he looks more like a Melvin Oliver type player instead of a Rahim Alem.
Remember what Kirston Pittman looked like when he was a freshman? Moffitt filled him out, didn't he.....

Rivals listed him as a DT on NSD last year - it hasn't changed. I believe he's still listed as a DE by LSU.
