The Clubhouse: A Year with the Boston Red Sox On Netflix

Has anyone watched this yet on Netflix? They follow the Red Sox around for behind the scenes access to the club for the entire 2024 season
My only complaint is that it starts getting a little too fluffy with personal stories but other than that it’s a very interesting doc and a fun watch if you love baseball

I enjoyed it. Those guys are well compensated, but the MLB season is an unrelenting grind.

One thing that’s bothering me is how all of the wives interviewed just sound miserable and they all seem to hate with a passion that their husbands play baseball For a living

It’s good. Showed my 12U son. I think listening to Duran really had an impact on him with seeing that these are people with real ups and down, on the field and off.

it was ight. Duran is kind of a bitch tho.

It was odd to see Boston media half heartedly get behind Duran after the suicide story because they all still hated him for saying ****.

Something is a little off with Duran. He doesn’t come across as genuine. Maybe I’m wrong.

quote:Probably because they all know that easily a third (conservative estimate) of MLB players - married or not - are drowning in pussy during the half of the season that’s away from home.

I'll have to watch, but my understanding is he really had a tough time with all the negative press after the "fagget" situation, so I could easily see him getting coaching for this.

If I played in the MLB - the last team I would ever want to play on would be the Red Sox. Their fans are weird as shite and crazy.. the ballpark is a shithole with terrible locker rooms and amenities - it just looks like a miserable place to play. The fans are bat shite crazy. They turn on players at the snap of a finger

Who did they turn on? Usually fans are crazy because their team is often a contender. You could always play in Colorado or Miami where the fans aren’t crazy.
