What’s expected turnaround for a bent prop? Hit something today literally going 4mph and bent the tip of a blade pretty good. Immediately went in neutral. Didn’t think twice about it. Drove around all day to come home and find it bent. Gonna bring it to Jefferson prop in Harvey Monday am. We were planning to bring the boat to cocodrie this weekend.
Went to Jefferson propellers in Harvey this am. Come to find out they sub the outboard prop repairs to precision in Metairie. The lady at the front desk was extremely nice and took care of it for me. I will get it back on Thursday.
In the meantime I spoke to a guy named Clayton at proper alignment in Slidell based upon a rec. Super nice guy. Can’t get to my prop bc he’s a one man show and overloaded with work. But we talked for 15 mins. Told him some issues I was having and he recommended me a prop to buy. I was planning on buying another to have a backup. Told me to call boat stuf in Slidell and I did. Will have it likely by wed. So all has worked out so far.

If you bring it to Fast Eddies in Houma on Monday you'll have it for Friday when you go back to Cocodrie on Friday. Hes really good too but hes about to retire.

I second Bo’s. The cpl times I’ve brought props there they were super nice and willing to talk and make suggestions that would make my boats perform better than before I damaged my props.

Where are you located?
Precision Propeller Service in Metairie does great work. Owner is my neighbor who's done work for me. Highly recommended.

I like Bo, he's been my go-to for quite a while now. Nice to have a launch right next door to go try it out right then and there.
He is more of the go-fast mindset than I am, I like being able to handle weight and hold plane as slow as possible. Make sure you're clear what your expectations and wants are because his natural thoughts are around going fast.
He's one of the few that understands that an engine needs to be right at redline at light boat. He's good at getting a boat to go fast and carve corners. Too many people shoot for the "optimal" engine speed when propping a boat, and then add a fishing load and they have too much prop. Bad for engine life, bad for fuel economy, bad for performance. Underwheeled is better than overwheeled.
