Any recommendations for lodging (mid September) near St. George and to take in Zion? Has to be relatively close to St. George as we have activities there as well. Thanks in advance!

My memory is that there are some chain hotels in a couple of the small towns you pass through from St. George to Springdale. That’s all I got.

I'd try to stay in the lodge in Zion if you can swing it.

Walking distance to the Grotto so you can start Angels Landing before the shuttles arrive.

If not, rent an ebike and stay in Springdale. Nice to be able to beat the shuttle places.

Angel's Landing is worth the effort to get a permit.

Check Airbnb for desert color resort. It has a huge 3 acre lagoon with sandy beaches for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and it’s brand new. It’s just south of 15 in St George. Literally one of the best places I’ve ever stayed at in the US and not that expensive. Lagoon opens a bit late I believe, 10 or 11.

Las Palmas resort is just north of 15 in the same area. A little older, cheaper no lagoon but it has 5 pools and 4 hot tubs. It was spectacular as well. Pool hours are a little better (9-8 I think) and you can ride your bike to a great mountain bike trail (bear claw poppy).

Both places have other activities too like volleyball, foosball etc. st George are seems to have cheaper places to stay all 3 times I’ve been there. 1st time we went we stayed at Hampton inn and the 2 resorts blew that away.

Opt for Springdale if you can. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express right on the main drag two years ago. It was relatively inexpensive and surprisingly nice. 5 minutes to the visitor center for park shuttles. Would absolutely stay there again
