Timing. I love how the draft is right after The Finals….the fans are still engaged and dialed in. It’s like the cherry on top after The Finals.

I'm just glad MLB finally moved their draft until after the CWS. Was stupid having guys drafted while they are getting ready for a game in Omaha

NFL does things very differently. They want their offseason events (draft, owners’ meeting, HOF, etc) spread out over the whole year so that there seems like something is going on all the time.

You've got a three month gap between March Madness and the NBA draft. That gives the prospects plenty of time to confer with agents, train or schedule workouts, etc.
College football players are still playing a few weeks before the Super Bowl and it takes them a lot longer to prepare for the draft.
