Anyone have any recommendations for someone they have used that did good work?

Doesn't have to be the best in the world or a work of art but would like a really solid piece done.

Looking to get a 7+' Marlin done. (anyone have a ballpark on cost?)

Thanks

I know it is in Dallas but Josh Kelly with advanced fish taxidermy in Dallas is the best in the business

I had a sailfish done by Grey and they did a great job. Highly recommend.

It was a few years ago but I want to say it was 3k ish and maybe another grand to ship.

Well worth it IMHO.

Going to get them to do my next Bull Mahi.

Looking at the size for my marlin from King Sailfish looks like it'd cost me around $1,800 which is around what I was expecting.

yeah check out Kingsailfish mounts or Gray.

I had a tarpon done by Gray and very happy with it. Shipping costs can get you though. But for bigger fish like tarpon, marlin, or sails, I would use either of them anyday.

Gotta give us the story though! Where'd you catch the Marlin?

Since I'm in Houston I shouldn't have to worry about shipping, on King Sailfish Mounts I assume you choose the size of your fish, and then send him pictures as well so he can match it up?

My Dad got a Marlin mount from Gray. It looks good but he said shipping was outrageous.

Oh never mind seeing both of these places are in Florida.

Since I've heard the shipping is pretty wild I was looking for hopefully a place in the Houston area or a short drive from there.

Charter with some buddies and our wives in Cabo, unfortunately for them I'm the only one that got one lol.

Striped? How much did they guess that it weighed?

Yes striped, it was a little over 7ft and based on the length he eyeballed it at 140ish lbs.

Seemed right to me and I assume he knows but it's my first marlin.

I have conversed with him via email and will probably go with him to do it, thanks for the recommendation.
