Other teams fold. LSU truly has the belief they are supposed to win it.

Great interview; thanks for sharing

Glad to hear Skip is still mentally sharp. Still giving advice to Jay and being an asset to the program after all these years

Thanks for sharing. Skip isn't just an LSU legend. He's just a flat out legend.

Having Skip around the program as much as he has been with Jay here is such a special time in our History.

His knowledge in how to motivate people is on another level of anyone I’ve ever heard speak. Jay knows that and is absorbing like a sponge.
Hope we can keep Skip with us another 10 years.

Does it feel like Skip is around the program more with Jay than he was with Paul? I know he had other responsibilities as AD during some of Paul's tenure, but for whatever reason, he seems to be more present recently. Did he not have as good of a relationship with Paul as he does with Jay? Or am I making something out of nothing?

I definitely think this more of a Father son and mentor relationship with Jay and with Paul more like a trusted advisor.

I like what’s happening now, a lot.

This is how Skip always wanted it to be deep down. Proud like a Pappa.

No. He was at a ton of games when Paul coached. He hired Paul at Lsu, and before that recommended him to UGA. I think he liked Paul plenty. I think there is more media around now and I think Jay probably picks Skip’s brain more than Mainieri did

I think some here realize but not all do - LSU baseball as it is today does not exist in any form even close to or resembling what it is now if Skip doesn't come here. It would be much closer to what it was before he got here.

And I'd go farther and say neither does college baseball in the rest of the state or even the SEC resemble what it is today had Skip never come to LSU.

His impact, and marketing of the sport by force of personality made it what it is today. That can't be said enough.

Those teams we make fun of for their small and/or empty stadiums who have no following....that would be LSU still today had Skip had never come here.

I was never that big a Bob Broadhead fan but that was far and away his best hire ever. And I'm sure Skip sold himself.

Hold the Rope - I loved his old players taking in his voice. I forget which one but he said skip was like and I don't lose in Omaha.

Lol at the just brass balls to say that

Also hom asking Jay before series what the championship celebration plan was before game started

Skip was always about preparing his teams mentally. He's right about having players feeling like they are supposed to win.
