He's in a band. Look up The Cost on Spotify.
Their 1st album is great.
And yes he's unbelievable. 4 years ago I called him a top 5 current drummer and got downvotes galore.

He's certainly talented.
But man, that dude just can't let a song breath. Its constant 16th and 32nd notes.

I agree. He's extremely talented and got rich from his YT videos. As an exhibitionist he is the best. But to me, "The Best" is being original....IE: Portnoy, Mangini, Tony Royster Jr.....etc.

Neil Peart, Carter Beauford, Danny Carey, Ringo Starr etc.

Exactly. It's why we don't judge painters on how difficult the painting was to create, but rather it's artistic qualities.
We have had these discussions in the "best" guitarist threads, and people get overly swayed by pure speed or shredding ability, rather than creativity and originality.

Of course he can let a song breathe. Listen to The Cost originals.
On his YT channel, people dont watch to see him play the songs note for note how the original drummer played it.

Seeing as the last two artists I've seen in concert are Dream Theater and The Weeknd, I feel qualified to offer an opinion. This guy is a great drummer. That exhibition, while impressive, did absolutely nothing but overwhelm an already brilliant song. It's a simple, catchy melody that he just buries under rhythmic clutter.

Yup. That's portnoys problem

At 2 downvotes on the OP.
That's an extremely original and musical cover. With 2 snares and no toms at that.

Amazing to watch but damn I think I’d be miserable in a band with him

To each his own, he seems cool as shite talking on his channel.
