Thinking about getting a new basketball goal for my boys. Anyone put one in and have advice/tips/recommendations?

We got a Goalrilla from Dicks. 60" backboard. Solid as a rock.
Become very familiar with how to mix concrete if not already. (or get a mixer)
and a post hole digger.
Get some dudes to help. You'll need them for the backboard.

+1 for G&P. I’ve seen a few of theirs in the old neighborhood.

Put in a mega slam a few years back. Robust construction. DIY'd it 100% with a few helping hands.

We bought one from Dick's as well and I did it myself WITHOUT HELP.
Do not recommend
The concrete and digging wasn't hard, but the install of the pole and backboard was a biiiiitch.
(my wife likes to say she helped, but she's a liar)
ETA:
Thing has been great. Lowers and raises easily, not too much of an eyesore, has padding on the pole, sturdy as hell, made it through some serious tornadic type winds a few times and withstood hail damage that actually knicked up my car windshield pretty bad.
If you're able to hire someone reputable to install and don't mind the extra cost, do that. I would if I did it again.

I have a Goalsetter from G&P. Looked at Goalrilla but went with the American made product.
It’s been solid and I’d recommend. They also did a good job installing. You could probably do yourself if fairly handy and can properly install the anchor.

I put in a 60” goalrilla with a 5.5” square post about 5 years ago. It’s still solid as hell although the paint has faded. I’m sure I over engineered the footing, but I wanted a gym quality feel for the rim and backboard. I dug the hole larger than recommended and upgraded the rebar to #4s vertical and used the tiny bars they provided to wrap the cage. I probably mixed 3/4 CY of concrete on a 4” slump in a wheelbarrow. It’s been in the eye of a hurricane and hasn’t moved 1/16th of an inch

Get one that’s easy to throw away when they quickly lose interest.

Get a nice looking glass backboard like the one on the G&P website. The fiberglass ones are so heckin trashy

Goals & Poles in BTR
Had mine installed a few years ago. Went with the goalsetter vs the goalrilla being built in the US and I found the quality to be better.
