Anybody know of a reasonable and quality body/paint guy in the Zachary area? I have an old truck that I’d like to redo. Thanks!

Contact some of the high schools in the area. If they have a auto shop class maybe you can get the labor for free.; just provide the paint.

I checked in my area to get a 92 land cruiser painted, i had a guy tell me he wouldn't touch it for less than 12k. I'd really like to paint it, but not for more than the value of the whole car. Paint and supplies are through the roof now just like everything else.

Was this for a color change? That seems really high to repaint it the same color - unless you had a lot of work that needed to be corrected first like a bunch of dings or rust.
Edit: A lot of shops don't like doing full body repaints (if its not insurance work) because it ties up their paint booth and they wont make as much off of you as they would the insurance company.

Nope. That's the current going rate. It's insane. I'm in that business, and can't even get a friend price for less than $10,000.
Materials to paint a car are easily around $3-4k depending on the color if you include primer, sealer, paint, clear, sandpaper, etc.
Zachary area - I'd try Certified Collision on Hooper Road

My '97 needs paint. It was painted white by previous owner using MAACO I think. Original color was hunter green. I'd like to strip the white and restore to original, but with the costs emntioned in this thread, and what I have found on my own, I am leaning heavily towards a wrap.

I quoted three separate places last year to repaint my 1990 Suburban and lowest quote i got was for $9,500, which was way out of price range.
I hate for it to keep deteriorating, but at that price the paint is worth more than the vehicle.
I feel your pain.

This thread is insane, I had no idea it had gotten so expensive.
Rustoleum in the driveway it is!

It's expensive because most body shops prefer not to take on full paint jobs. They tie up the booth and labor for too long.

How hard is it for a novice to do prep and then bring to paint?

Bet none will even consider paint on one they didn’t prep due to warranty/liability.

11k for a full paint job on 2018 F150 that all the damn paint is falling off of, apparently there was a recall I never found out about. Spot painting the problem areas is about half, leaning that route and throwing a for sale sign on it.

Wonder what it would cost to have it wrapped?

North Alabama - I just shopped paint for a 94 K2500 that we are fixing up for my son. No color change, no body work, White Paint - Typical 90's chevy peeling on roof and hood.
everyone wanted 10-12K to prep, prime and paint. Did not include trim re-installed, decals, etc. I couldnt justify the cost for this truck. Ended up at MAACO - they quoted 3500 and 4 weeks. Ended up taking 10 weeks, but cost was as quoted. It has some overspray and a few runs, but looks 100x better than previous and looks good at 10ft. Not show quality but I am happy with it for a driver.
