I don't think anyone survived this one.

Here’s a video of the entire takeoff roll. That plane looks like it was in trouble the second it rotated.

Total speculation:
From the ground level video the flaps do not appear to be extended correctly for takeoff. Can't remember exactly how the T/O Warning is mechanized on the 787, but on many transport category jets the alert sounds if you advance the throttles without the flaps in a "normal takeoff position".
On my current aircraft we commonly use 1, 5 or 15 for takeoff. All normal positions. At Orange County (SNA) the runway is very short and we typically need Flaps 15 for takeoff. If you forget to put the flaps out, you will get a warning horn blaring at you when you start the takeoff roll. However, if you only extend the flaps to Flap 1 ( which is very difficult for a layman to even tell externally from looking at them) when your programmed takeoff performance data calls for Flaps 15, the jet will very happily roll quietly (a long distance) down the runway.
At first glance (again, total speculation) it sure looks like they didn't have the flaps set correctly for their configuration. Possibly they realized their mistake too late to successfully reject the takeoff, rotated at the last possible moment (hence the dust you see being kicked up at the departure end) and were so preoccupied with firewalling the motors and trying not to stall while the stick shaker, aural stall warning and ground proximity warning system all went off that they never got the landing gear up and ran out of airspeed/altitude/ideas all at once.
Don't think this one will be terribly hard to decipher once they recover the FDR/CVR.

The plane was 11 years old.

Not a good look for Boeing

You're correct. They had/have a new one on order.

Nothing to do with Boeing right now. Air India issue and possibly a stall on take off. First hull loss for a 787 since they’ve been in production.

This will likely be an Air India issue. The 787 has been great.

BA stock down 7% after hrs. Maybe just panic sellers.

Yep, 11 years in service and no problems. Air India has had sketchy maintenance for years. Which should be no shocker for anyone. Flightradar isn’t the best source but it looks like they took off from the middle of the runway. 787 needs 8k feet of runway for a good takeoff and they used about 5k of runway.

In that video it looks like the flaps were not deployed. Maybe a stall on takeoff because of no flaps?

Yeah no flaps. People saying the RAT was deployed. Possible double engine failure. Gear still down and no flaps is not good.

Time to unleash the conspiracy nuts. Was this a Pakistani sabotage? Who was on the plane? Etc, etc. there’s no room for accidents or errors in today’s world.

53 of the passengers were British.

This is the first fatal crash and first hull loss of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Boeing is so screwed.

Possibly flew into a microburst right after takeoff? Looks like he pitched up hard and stalled
