Dropping on MGM+ in July. Seems like I just read this book a few months ago. Liked the book and the basic premise. Cant believe they are already coming out with a series. From the creators of From.

Probably going to give it a shot

I have MGM+, I like From, I like Stephen King.
I’ll watch.
Though I’ve stopped reading him, and have never heard of this.
Not going to watch the trailer.
Going in blind.

Just in here performing my duty of telling everyone who enters this thread to watch From and catch up on it so you can join in the season discussion next season. One of the best shows on television currently.

After watching the first 2 episodes, I have to say I’m disappointed:
- really rushed timeline from the book
- acting is sub-par
- additions from the book that seem really unnecessary. Not woke or preachy just don’t really understand why? Maybe my first point of the rushed timeline but not sure.

Did you notice the different pacing's?

You have a rushed story line, a mid-level pacing story, then the slow pace story.

They are never going to do direct book to movie, to many people read the books and they want to change the story, this is not near the first-time changing things on a King book.

Hollywood has a very long history of changing the book a story is based on, just look at the Sound of Music, that story got butchered. From a kind father to the Iron hand of Maria to what you got in the movie.

Yeah its all over the place. King probably just doesnt care anymore. He laughing all the way to the bank but it doenst make it less irritating.

But the acting of the main character is just bad. He doesnt have a lot of experience but I feel like they could have gotten someone better.

Spoiler:
Also, why the story line with the reporter killing the head of the snatch team then taking over. Totally offline from the book and really unnecessary. What purpose did that serve? And if you remember, they weren't even allowed to leave the compound in the book and the compound was really far away from the town they were in. I feel like this is going to screw the ending.
