We’ll probably open in Game 4 against Arky.
Win that game, we’ll probably play Game 8, lose we play Game 7.

What are you basing this on?

Does ESPN want LSU/Arkansas in primetime or UCLA/Duke?
Since this is baseball and not basketball im going with us getting game 4.

I agree with what you're saying. But one should never underestimate how dumb ESPN can be

Yeah I could see ESPN doing something dumb like putting our game at 2 because they know people will watch regardless then put the Duke game in prime time to try and bump up the numbers for that one

I have a can’t miss dinner on Friday night so it’s going to be that one 100%

Yeah that’s just not how that works

Peter Burns and Jared Mitchell said on SEC Now this morning (on the SEC Channel) that LSU vs Arkansas will be at Saturday night. SEC NOW
Not sure if they had inside information or where just guessing, but it seemed pretty definite and they even had a graphic. Hope this is correct.

Basically our side of the bracket is Games 3 & 4, then Games 7 & 8, and then Games 11 & 12.
Each side of the bracket is like a regional format. Winners of first game play each other, losers play each other, loser of that one goes home. Loser of winners game plays another elimination game against survivor of losers game. And winner of that one plays the undefeated team and has to beat them twice.

In 2023 No. 1 Wake Forest v. No. 8 Stanford was on LSU's side of the bracket with No. 5 LSU v. (unseeded) Tennessee. LSU was the night game on Saturday.
In 2017 Oregon St. vs. CS-Fullerton was on LSU's side of the bracket...two west coast teams. OSU was also the overall No. 1 seed. Didn't matter. LSU v. FSU was the night game that day.
The audience for college baseball is VERY small. Of that small pool, LSU is one of, maybe the biggest fish in the pond in terms of fan interest. Arkansas is in that small pool too. ESPN is going to select the schedule base upon potential ratings. There may not be another game in the tournament that will generate higher ratings than LSU v. Arkansas given the interest from both fan bases (prior to the finals at least).
Is it possible LSU would be the afternoon game? Yes. But not likely.

I have a friend that trains two of the players I asked him if they could confirm before booking travel. They both said Saturday at 6 TFWIW....
So.. I arrive Saturday morning and pray we aren't somehow playing Friday...

I'm not sure if you are agreeing or disagreeing with me, but you're helping prove my point.

In round 1 I would prefer somebody we haven't already played. UCLA, Oregon State are more interesting opponents

We will 100% be playing Arkansas Saturday night at 6:00PM
