The Tigers who've just entered the portal can change their minds, right?

On that note I did notice that Mic Paul is still in the dugout this weekend despite being in the portal.

They were probably processed. Thats the ugly side of the portal. The coaches make room for the new roster and make cuts for the post season.

When I saw he was going play in the California league, where we’ve never sent anyone, I assumed he would hit the portal and try to be seen by someone closer to home.

He’s been a good teammate and him hitting the portal is probably as much about the reduced rosters as it is about him finding a place to get on the field for his last two years.

It’s one where I don’t think there are hard feelings either way.

That is the cold hard reality. Some of the higher rated recruits that are now in the portal had opportunities earlier in the season. They weren’t ready and there just isn’t room on this roster if you can’t hit for average and power.

Casting no aspersions here. It comes down to taking your opportunity to the max.

Good to know he's still around. He could easily get on the field as a defensive sub late in the game after PHing for Brown/Pearson. And OF defense is really important in the CWS
