Fun ride, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the first, but I really liked the first one.

After watching a couple of trailers, I’m honestly expecting to hate it. It looks like they’ve completely changed the tone of the world established in the first movie, and turned it into a silly buddy comedy.
I’m hoping that’s just a poorly put-together trailer—but I’m not so sure.
Either way, thanks for the heads-up. I’ll check it out sometime this weekend.

It focuses less on the methodical cerebral aspects of Christian Wolff and with Braxton (his brother) being in the whole movie it is more of a machete than a scalpel situation. They bring back Ray King and his successor Marybeth (from the Treasury Dept) and flesh out the story of the Christian's voice on the phone handler (though I wonder if it is what the writers had in mind the first go round).
I think it is worth a watch but I like the OG better. In an odd way it reminded me of Suits and SOA in that as time went on the special mental gifts of the main characters were less and less center stage. Though you can't just discard that with Wolff since it so directly impacts his personality.
I will say I felt cheated not actually seeing the bar fight.

I liked it. Idk why everything has to be compared. Its a good movie by itself. Good enough for me.

I don't remember Wolff being so affected in the first movie. I've watched about half of it and it's not as good as the first one (so far).

Brother is hilarious. Especially about the cat

Saw the first one years ago and liked it but didn’t remember much. Saw the second one at the spur of the moment due to a rainy day at the beach. Loved it and thought it was more comedy than I remembered.
Went back and rewatched the first one. Liked both a lot and personally liked the second more. Probably because I like Berenthal a lot and he was a lot more fun this go around.
If you want more seriousness the first is probably better. If you want more comedy with the action then you’ll like 2 more. But I think they are both pretty good.

This for me, it also has more dark humor than the first one.

Funniest part of the movie actually.

I watched it last night. To me, it was mildly entertaining and watchable. A little stiff and contrived in parts. Like wiping out an entire cartel army by 2 guys for one.
Affleck seemed to speak completely differently; his mannerisms were more Adam Sandler than the original Christian Wolff. It was a distraction, to say the least.
Affleck and Bernthal are great together...
Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal Are a Blast to Watch in The Accountant 2 (Review)
IMDB Rating of 6.9.
The first Accountant movie was much better. Certainly not at the level of Reacher, but watchable. I'd give it a 4/10 maybe.

Its a good movie...not quite as good as the first one, but the bar was set pretty high. I would watch it again. When I do watch it again, I am going to fast forward every scene Cynthia Addai-Robinson is in.

They amped up the autism about 100000%.

Is the first one on anything?

Appreciate the heads up. Been waiting to see this for a while now. I’m about halfway through it and no real complaints so far. Only critique at this point is there’s no real resistance to their investigation. But, that might change soon seeing as they’ve definitely disturbed a hornets nest after the pizza factory scuffle and kidnapping of the prostitute’s protection. One thing I do like the academy for young autists. Maybe the third movie will delve deeper into that. Hoping for more action in the second half.
ETA - Not as good as the first one was, but anyone saying it was bad must have super high expectations for sequels. The storyline was kinda meh. That compound clearing scene was dope. Ben and Jon have a good on camera dynamic. The dating scene in the beginning just being a set up for him to meet the girl in the country bar seemed pointless. My dumbass thought the bad guy sniper was Chris Pratt for way longer than I care to admit.

I meant to mention that while it would be cheesy AF when he got the bar girl's number on his hand he missed his Matt Damon "how do you like them apples" call back.

The movie is odd but worth the watch. But barely prime time. Kinda but for strict viewers may be a better Thurs or Fri watch than Sat. (That’s one way I rank them).
Lot of clunky moments
Ton of great scenes.
Affleck really expands on his depiction of an autistic weirdo working through his condition.
The plot was like the mighty Mississippi, staying mostly in its boundaries but always threatening to breach the levees out into wherever.
