My HS graduating year and first semester at LSU. What a time to discover the college charts. I think I spent nearly all my extra money on albums.

Fables of the Reconstruction - REM
Tim - The Replacements
Mars Needs Guitars - Hoodoo Gurus
Ain't Love Grand - X
Husker Du - Flip Your Wig

I have all of these on vinyl. A couple can be seen in this pic from last year or so,

I graduated from college in 1984, and I've never heard any of those albums. Maybe a song here and there.

Yeah, I recognize just about all of them as well, only towards the bottom and a few sprinkled midway are new to me

First time I've seen Sisters of Mercy on any list.

Saw them at Wembley Arena for the Vision Thing tour.

Heard of, yes. Heard, not so much. Did play some earlier stuff by some of those, though.

I won't disagree with the overall statement, but that list, and in particular the order, isn't it.

For example, I love Killing Joke, and I've seen Martin Atkins live with a couple of his side projects, but #27? I'm sorry. They should BARELY be in the top 100...

If you wanted to call it the best Synthpop/New Wave/Post-Punk/Experimental albums of 1985, then I might agree with it being the top 100. This list was put together by someone trying to be TOO Avant Garde....
