Highest percentage in the nation.

26 regional titles, 7 national titles with the past 25 regional victories. Let’s make it 8 for 31%!

NCAA baseball has changed. We have a very good team this year with some glaring weaknesses. Which is not in any way unique to LSUs team. Still lot of tough games. We will need some breaks along the way.

Even the 2023 team had weaknesses in pitching department outside of Skenes and a couple others. I remember being very concerned a couple games in Omaha and suddenly the others came through just like Evan’s did the other night. When one holds the rope the others usually follow. It’s contagious, and that’s what I’m hoping for this weekend and thereafter if we’re lucky enough to go further.

"Regional championship" meant something very different back in the 48-team field, before the Super Regional era.

No question. Skip was, in large part, responsible for pushing the new format forward. At the time he said it may not necessarily benefit LSU, but it will benefit college baseball. He was right. College baseball is much bigger and more popular than it was back then.

The trade off is that it’s harder to get to the World Series now (both from a format standpoint and a parity standpoint).

Bingo! There is no single team out there that screams dominance. Anyone can beat anyone this year.

Everyone left will. There are no dominant teams that are solidly above everyone else. At least note yet unless a team emerges starting this week or next.

Defense was also an issue at time. We could get sloppy on the infield and had our share of errors. But as with pitching, the 23 team really raised their floor on defense once they got to the postseason.

When we had to face Tennessee again in the loser’s bracket I was not optimistic. It made those pitching performances feel miraculous. I think that was the one Ack pitched out of his mind.

Same here. That team was stacked and we still almost didn't win the whole thing. It is EXTREMELY hard to win it all. Anything is possible though.

I don't think most people are. That team was loaded as hell!
