Casan Evans quote to the team last night after getting magic moment (the second, Frey got one too). Jay only does these after a win. After every single win regardless of time/location/final score. So it had me thinking, I suppose that’s the right mindset to just get to Omaha and then see what happens when you’re there. And I know just from watching the kid pitch all year Evans is an absolute competitor. He was damn near untouchable last night. Nine straight K’s is unheard of! But damn, I want a few more than just two..

I think so. I think the goal is Omaha. Once you get there, you put it all on the line and see what happens.

I loved that Hernandez, out there catching Evans as he mowed down batters, picked him up with two big no-doubter solo shots in back to back at bats to even it and give us (maybe extend I don’t recall) the lead.
Side note I also loved when Hernandez was holding the ball before throwing it back to Evans and telling him to calm down and breathe, exaggerated arm motions up and down, this was as UALR had adjusted their approach to slow things down in the box, could read Evans lips responding back just throw me the fricking ball
