In that count Curiel wasn't getting anything hittable regardless. They saved some pitches and avoided a mistake trying to salvage that at bat.

And it as easy a fix as swapping milam and jones. Hell I’d even put jones below Hernandez. And start Reaves tonight to have a potential bat behind jones. This is bad mid week pitching Reaves can hit this and his defense won’t matter if he gives us offense on the night. Bring in Braswell for defense latter.

Jones will be the largest reason this team falls short of their goals this year. Whatever caused him to fall back into his old habits has a strong hold on him.

And Curiel was seeing the ball well. In his 4 at bats he had 3 hits including a double.

Why can't we just install John Pearson at 1st base and let the future start tonight?
If he goes 0-4 it's probably going to get you what Bear has been bringing the last few weeks anyway.

And we had better intentionally walk Angel. He’s dialed in and powerful and it’s cheesy, but the odds play in our favor to deny him a shot.
