Jay sure rides “his guys” no matter what. Hate to see him leave. Seems hard to break into lineup after Jay picks his dude, even when they suck most of the year.

I mean respectfully, where was he going to slot in this year? Frey has been great at DH, and you aren’t sitting Bear even if he’s slumping hard right now

College baseball in the SEC involves contributing as a freshman or transferring. You then replace them through the portal. Rinse and repeat.

I’m not saying Jones should not be moved down in the lineup. But he is still hitting over .300 and leads the team in HR.
I wouldn’t put that as sucking most of the year. Slumping sure.

Can’t blame him when the player playing ahead of you is in a 30 game hitting slump and you don’t get a pinch hitting opportunity it’s demoralizing.
