LSU
Friday vs LR
Eyanson 98 pitches, 7.2ip, 1bb, 7k, 0r
Primeaux 4 pitches, .1ip, 0r
Rizy 10 pitches, 1ip, 2k, 0r
Saturday vs DBU
Anderson 106 pitches, 7ip, 2bb, 11k, 0r
Primeaux 18 pitches, .1ip, 2bb, 0r
Mayers 13 pitches, .2ip, 1bb, 1k, 0r
Schmidt 30 pitches, 1ip, 1hbp, 3k, 0r
Sunday vs LR
Noot 50 pitches, 1.1ip, 2bb, 2k, 2r
Shores 39 pitches, 1ip, 3bb, 2k, 1r
Williams 52 pitches, 3.2ip, 1bb, 4k, 0r
Mayers 36 pitches, 1.1ip, 4bb, 2k, 4r
Rizy 21 pitches, .2ip, 1bb
LSU has the following pitchers who have not thrown:
Benge, Ware, Evans, Cowan
Big gap
Woods, Beck, Dorsey, Thompson, Fontenot…these guys have thrown a combined 13.1 innings all year.
Primeaux and Schmidt should also for sure be available. In a must win game, I’d say that Shores and Rizy are probably available also.
LITTLE ROCK
Friday v LSU
Wells 103 pitches, 5ip, 3bb, 3k, 3r
Katz 22 pitches, 1ip, 1bb, 2k, 3r
Beezley 25 pitches, 2ip, 1bb, 2k, 1r
Saturday v RI
Cline 35 pitches, 1.2ip, 1bb, 2k, 3r
Royal 46 pitches, 1.2ip, 4bb, 3k, 3r
Van Cleve 32 pitches, 1ip, 2bb, 1k, 2r
Bunting 83 pitches, 1.2ip, 1bb, 2k, 2r
Sunday v DBU
Haley 57 pitches, 3.1ip, 2bb, 2k, 3r
Royal 17 pitches, .2ip, 1bb, 2k, 0r
Busick 65 pitches, 4ip, 3bb, 3k, 2r
Van Cleve 7 pitches, 1ip, 1k
Sunday v LSU
Burkey 40 pitches, 1.2ip, 0bb, 1k, 3r
Katz 37 pitches, 1.2ip, 2bb, 1k, 0r
Royal 8 pitches, .1ip, 1bb
Brown 89 pitches, 5.1ip, 1bb, 3k, 1r
UALR has these pitchers who have not thrown, assuming that none are injured or anything like that…I haven’t studied them, just a quick look at stats:
Luke Rolland (1 ip all year)
Preston Davis (10.2 ip)
Robert Bavon (8.1 ip)
Seth Cooper (8.2 ip)
Waylon Sebren (2.2 ip)
Marshall Brown (.1 ip)
Seth Adams (0 ip in 1 appearance)
Our 3-4 guys who haven’t thrown are definitely more experienced and better pitchers than what they have left that hasn’t thrown.
Beezeley and Cline should 100% be available. Van Cleve and Royal have thrown 2 days in a row with low pitches. Who knows about them. It wouldn’t shock me if they brought back some of these dudes who threw less than 50-60 pitches today and yesterday. None of those dudes are MLB arms. They’re not worried about overuse or anything. They just wanna win and make a super.
Brown, who carved us up tonight - 39 ip with a 1-3 record on the year and 4.99 ERA
Katz, who got his first win to bring himself to 1-0 - 19 ip with a 7.32 ERA

Preston.Davis is hurt I know. Talked to his dad.

Did we leave Fontenot off the roster?

Their day 2 guy will pitch to start off I would think. Barely threw any pitches Saturday before he got tossed from an awful outing. He has thrown a ton of pitches the past week so he won't be on the mound more than a few innings. Doesn't much of a rag arm to shut these hitters down. 6+ era guys with flat 88mph fastballs shut our hitters down.

They will be throwing the kitchen sink at LSU. Unless they are ineligible because of pitch count any of their guys can throw.

Whoever they throw will have success. Kline may be the exception, but only maybe.

I would expect Cline followed by Van Cleve or Beezley. If LSU can be patient at the plate and work counts, this really shouldn’t be a contest if Evans pitches to his potential. Hell, we hit the ball tonight, but were terrible with RISP. That and walks killed us.

This. We had no problem getting hits until 2 outs with RISP until Brown came in. We only struggled with one pitcher, and he got the benefit of a few fantastic defensive plays to help him out, as well.

If you are quiet during the game, I’ll know we are having success. I think I’ve seen you post more than twice in a game we were hitting well in once, and that was vs DBU.

Jones and Braswell single-handedly destroyed all momentum early in the game. If I recall, Braswell left bases loaded stranded TWICE.

Cowan, Evans, and Eyanson if needed is what we’ll see tomorrow

I look forward to tomorrow, Misey. Hope you get to call me out.
I appreciate your positivity, even if I think it’s tremendously misguided with this lineup. This board is better with the balance.
Btw, I define LR pitching success as holding LSU to less than 10 runs. LR is playing its 5th game in 4 days, they are 26-33 in the OVC, they have a team ERA of 6.37. On no planet should LSU score less than 10 runs against this team in this context.

In the 1st, we had 3 straight hits, then a pop up, strikeout with zero swings the whole AB, then got caught stealing on a head scratcher if a decision.
We left runners on 2/3 in the 2nd (Jones)
Loaded in 3rd (Braswell)
Loaded in 4th (Frey)
1/2 in 5th (Jones)
Unfortunate line drive double play in 7th
Had chances all game. But when your 2/3/4/5 hitters go 2/18 with 2 bloop singles that probably should have been caught, and the 8/9 hitters go 1/8 with a pinch hit single (and couldn’t get another AB due to defensive position)…not gonna go well. 3/26 from 6 spots if the lineup.
Props to Milam, Hernandez, and Curiel for going 8/11 and at least giving us a chance

.
Only one team has actually done what you suggest against LR in this regional and they were still getting beat by double digits most of the game. I’m sure you think DBU is a better team than we are offensively, and they also struggled to generate consistent opportunities against them. Say what you will, but just like Wright St did in Nashville, LR has found a higher level of play than anyone expected them to.
As gassed as all but one of their useful pitchers are, we absolutely should pound them tomorrow. Worse than in game one. But that said, the lazy take of throwing out their regular season record as some standard for this game is silly. They obviously aren’t that team today. They are the team that has won 8 of their last 9 games, several of them elimination games, and all vs teams who were better than they were in the regular season. Our players probably thought of them exactly like you are before this game, especially after how game 1 went.

Jay better keep Primeaux the hell away from that mound tomorrow night unless LSU is up by 12+ runs in the 9th.
Putting someone like that on the mound in a game like this deserves an arse whoopin after the game for sheer stupidity.
