Very good new show. Edinburgh detective working cold cases. Well done. I’m seven episodes in with two to go.

Oh noice. An English remake. I had no clue this was out. I will definitely be watching. I really enjoyed the original Danish series of films they did. Thanks for the heads up.

Very interesting, especially with Scott Frank as showrunner (Godless, Queen's Gambit). Definitely on the must watch list.

I really wish they would’ve done a new cold case every episode. It felt way too dragged out for no reason.
They left a lot of threads undone for no reason as well. And plotholes.
They’d need 3 more seasons to close all the loops.
It was enjoyable. I binged it. However I’d give it a 6/10. It could have easily been 4-5 episodes instead of 9.

Agreed. Maybe not a new one every episode but 2-3 episode story arcs

Every season has a primary story arc. Similar to Lincoln Lawyer.

I really enjoyed it. Think they could have cut it down by a couple of episodes to help move it along a little easier, but overall not going to complain about a generally well-done show.

Thru the first two episodes. Excellent (so far).

One funny quirk in the show. In true Frank Drebin style he always parks partly on the curb.

I know the actress Catriona Stirling, the white-blonde cop. Knew her when she was a student at Cambridge and worked with her father for years. She’d often come to our house for dinner.

Woah that was entertaining as hell. Hope they continue the series.

I am not sure if I have ever seen a TV series based in Scotland that did not have at least 1 or more of the below actors in at least one episode.
Jamie Sives
Mark Bonner
Kate Dickie
Clive Russell
Shirley Henderson
This show adds Kelly MacDonald to the above and has a several others I have seen in multiple shows based somewhere in Britain.

Appears that the original movies are available on Philo. With free one week trial, may have to check them out.

does the show build up to a final ending or is each episode a one off

Good show. Didn’t mind the length. A lot of crap TV out there regarding lack of story arc and too much filler. But it was a good pace and never dull or over the top.

We just finished it yesterday. I don’t think anything will ever beat Broadchurch for me in British cop shows and how good that first season was. But this one comes pretty damn close.
Matthew Goode is also one of my fav British actors.

So true. Same goes for Icelandic series. There’s always the same 4-5 actors in everything.

My only real complaint with the show is that she was used so sparingly. I LOVE Kelly Macdonald.

Just finished it. I thought it was excellent. I’m a big Luther and Line of Duty fan, and this is right there with those series. Matthew Goode was fantastic, but the guy that played Akram stole the show.

I actually think Kate Dickie and Jamie Sives being so prominent in this one means we probably don’t get another season of Annika. Kind of a bummer.
