I have always took 5 or so grams before a workout and never noticed anything except being able to life more weight. Thanks to this board I upped it before work to 10 grams and felt slightly sharper mentally but nothing too drastic. It wasn't until I started taking 14 grams before work that I really started to notice it though. It makes my day so much easier because of how focused and even more motivated I am now. Anyone that hasn't noticed much from 10 grams should try 12-15 or more.

10 grams was doing it for me but now I’m not feeling it as much. May have to go up or start snorting some.

I upped to 15 grams a day. Dropped the hcl version and just now use creapure monohydrate. I can tell a difference.

Is there still a concern about kidneys with higher doses? I thought creatine was one of the “more isn’t better” sups.

Any stomach issues when making the switch?

Nope. I did try some 'micronized' creatine several months back and it gave me horrible stomach issues. Creapure seems the way to go at least for me.

Just increase water intake.
Your blood creatinine levels may rise slightly but shouldn’t be anything indicative of kidney failure.

And that doesn’t mean creatine causes that but could be correlated

I posted this in another creatine thread. If you are taking 15mg a day, how much water are you drinking? Do you have to drink more than you usually would.

I drink 3.5 to 4 liters of water a day. I split the 15 grams into three 5 gram doses.

I did 10 grams this morning and noticed a difference. I seemed to be more focused with a lot more energy. I am not sure if it's my imagination or not. Also usually after my afternoon workout I feel a little sore and stiff. That's not the case this evening.

I have so much more energy in the gym now. I was a skeptic like you but creatine has been great for me

I've gotten a huge boost in my focus and clarity from just 9!

So does working out eat into the effect, so hoping it for the mental benefit is needed? Hope that makes sense.

I've been taking 3mg of NOW Sports Kre-Alkalyn Creatine before my workout and then another 3mg after. So double each of those should work to start where the mental focus is for me? I'm an early before work workout person.

I'm not really sure what I should be expecting to see from creatine, so thanks for this info. Also, not sure if I'm even taking the right kind of not.

I started taking creatine 10 gums twice a day.Seems like I’m more alert and get going easier in the morning.
I’m the type that drags around couple hours in AM,have to have 2-3 cups coffee to get moving.

I guess I'll start doing 2 intervals of 5mg powder a day.

I’ve been taking a heaping scoop after my workouts now for a couple years . Is adding a morning dose the best idea for upping?

I’ve been using the naked brand, anyone else have a different brand they feel is superior?
