Name some extinct Louisiana golf courses

Plenty of good memories at courses long gone...
Westwood Executive (aka Par 3) in Shreveport. This and Querbes is where I learned to play. Back nine had lights and for the longest you could play one green fee and play as many times as you want. So many good times out there. I'd play a good bit of money to play that cheap course one more time.
Shreveport Country Club. I never saw it in it's heyday when it was the nicest course in town. Had the unfortunate luck of being in an area that turned into the ghetto. Nobody wanted to drive to the hood part Greenwood Rd. to play. Not all that long before they closed, they ran a special for $100 a month membership with cart. Best membership deal I've ever had. Very fun layout.
Palmetto Country Club in Benton. Private course that closed in 2015 and was a bit of a surprise imo. Very nice course when it was in it's prime. Already filled up with houses and a big medical office. Sad to see.
The Grove in Minden. Course wasn't opened relatively all that long but was a very fun course in the middle of nowhere. Played like a links course which was different from anywhere around. No cart paths but somehow that worked better and was smoother riding that the crappy paths most courses have. Fun layout and was typically in pretty good shape.
Bayou Bomber/Fox Run in Bossier. Barksdale Air Force Base golf course. Has only been closed for a year or two now. Had 10 different names over the years but those were the two most recent.
Seems like I'm missing something else here in North LA. Can't remember the name of the course right off I-20 between Bossier and Monroe (edit, it's Pine Hills), I know it's long gone. Sadly it wouldn't surprise me if Olde Oaks bites the dust before too long unless the owners sell to someone new.
My memory is crap, but apparently my golf memory is great because I can still play18 of those courses in my head except The Grove. Just didn't play there enough.
What do ya got?

Good riddance. I played it a couple weeks ago. Meadows was in ok shape but the other was absolutely horrible. The door to the clubhouse will hardly even close.

Yea I haven't played it in over a year and don't plan on it. Hate that it is in crap condition because it was imo the best course in town when it was in it's prime. All three 9's were a blast. It's obviously been a while since those days and the current owners will never get it back to being in good shape, but man I used to love playing out there.
The owners even have Stonebridge looking the worst it ever has now. The psycho wife made me drop my membership she pissed me off so bad and I won't ever be going back. Glad I made a switch.

I played a Korn Ferry qualifier (wasn't called that) early 2000s at that course in Lafayette just north of 10 that closed. Acadian Hills?

Just googled it. Yep, Acadian Hills Country Club, closed in 2011. Was Lafayette's 3rd oldest course.

Pine Hills - always in good shape with really good greens.

That's it! Only played it twice at a High School state regional tournament but I remember it being pretty nice. Looks like it sold in 2013.

For some reason I can't find anything about these on google. Did they just change names? Looks like maybe the South course was renamed Bayou Oaks?

Dang, looks like this was ranked as a top 5 course in Louisiana by Golf Digest at one point.

City Park used to have 4 courses (North, South, East, West) East and West were where the redesigned course Bayou Oaks is now and North is still there. South is gone.
Eastover was nice before Katrina.

I remember playing The Grove several times, it was a fun course. Olde Oaks is just trash now. I was a member when Hal had an office out there. Him and Freddy would be out on the range hitting balls. Hal had his own balls he would hit and Freddy would be out on the range picking them up by hand, they would be out there for hours. The Chinese guy who owns it and Stonebridge has run them in the ground. My kid played a High School tournament at Stonebridge and they tried to repair some of the cart paths. A dead, no armed man could have done a better job, looked like they just poured the concrete with no forms and just let it set up. Found out he didn't have permits to do any work and had to tear it all out and start over. Haven't been back since, it's not worth $80 to play.
Palmetto was another fun course. I had several friends have a membership and played there a lot, it was definitely a suprise when it shut down.
I only played Shreveport Country Club when Evangel Christain Academy's Church owned it. It wasn't in the best shape but for $25 it was worth it. Way more hills than what I would have thought. and a hole that you had to look through a periscope to see if there was anyone in the way before you teed off.
Westwood was awesome, especially when I was learning to play. They had night golf and we would be out there literally all day.
Another course that is shut down in the S'port/Bossier area is Fox Run. It was the course on Barksdale AFB. My dad was in the Air Force Reserves so I could go out there and play. That is where I played the most. Paid $35 a month for a membership. Membership prices were based off of rank so the higher rank you were, the more it cost. It played a lot like Querbes, short with some dog leg right holes and not very long. It shut down last year.

I was a PGA Golf Professional in Louisiana for 31 years, worked at several golf courses that are now closed.
Briarwood in Baton Rouge
Fairwood in Baton Rouge
The Bluffs in St Francisville
Acadian Hills in Lafayette
The Island in Plaquemine, closed for a year, now open and thriving again
The only Club I worked at that never closed, was Baton Rouge County Club.
